Shelby Lawrence is a minor character in Forgotten Treasure, but she is important to the story. Here’s a short excerpt of a scene where Shelby encounters the villain (written in the villain’s point of view):
Before she responds, the cranking of an engine outside the rear door marked EXIT catches her attention. A duo of vehicle doors slam shut, followed by the sound of tires pulling away from the loading area.
Shelby’s eyes flicker toward the noise. She realizes she’s alone now, so she ups the bravery pretense. “You think I’d pass out confidential client information for fifty dollars?” She follows up the challenge with a half-laugh.
